3 days had passed since Sam had met Brandon. It had been fun while it had lasted. She had found herself waiting for a phone call from him or one of his personnel, however never received one. 3 days had passed since that night. At first Sam had felt used, she had not spread a tear about it, however, she had felt down.
For the next two days she found herself preoccupied with processing notes, and overseeing everyone else’s articles in order to edit them. She had kept herself quite busy, but during the moments her mind strayed she wondered what had become of Brandon. She held nothing against him, however wondered of his wellbeing. She knew his job was dangerous, and wondered if that was, what had been keeping him away. When she used her voice recorder to recite the notes in her own words, his voice took her back to that night.
She immediately threw that thought away and continued working. Those 48 hours were occupied, where almost 87% of her time was either on the phone or her computer gathering further information. When she had time to herself, which were usually the early hours of the morning she found herself taking a leisurely jog.
On the fourth day, she decided she needed a break. The restraint of working long hours, had taken up a nice few days. Therefore she decided to get out. She left her apartment with one of the owners she had become fairly acquainted with. Her name was Angie, and was wild and bubbly, full of spirit. Sam found herself at an outdoor club, which looked out at the Ocean. It was quite picturesque, and the night tended to make the ocean sparkle with hidden treasures.
Angie managed to get Sam out on the dance floor. Together they joined locals and other tourists dancing. Sam and Angie let themselves go, and found themselves having a ridiculous amount of fun. The music was so loud, that is was pumping through Sam’s veins as she let the music carry her movements. When Angie had grown thirsty she begged Sam to leave the dance floor and accompany her to get a drink. Therefore they made their way to the bar and ordered themselves a drink. Both their faces flushed with heat.
“Wow, you can dance,” Angie exclaimed as they waited for their drinks. She leaned against the bench, and let her golden locks trail down her shoulders, flattering her small yellow dress and blue eyes. Sam wore a black one this time around, with a silver bow around it.
She gave Angie a smirk, “Dancing is nothing compared to what else I can do.”
“Yeah,” Angie giggled, “You can pick up pretty hot guys.”
Sam gave Angie a mischievous smile, “As can you. Give it a minute or two and I am sure any of the fine gentlemen over in that group,” she gestured with a nod, “.. will come and ask if they can buy you a drink.”
Angie laughed, and at the same time their drinks arrived. Sam took hers up and lifted it gently to her lips and let the cool liquid slip down her throat and take away the dryness. Sam had no intention of picking up any guys, she was not like that. Her intention was to get away from work. She had a right to a social life too.

Perrin had come to Hawaii to get away from stress, relax and catch some sun. The hotel he was staying at lead strait onto the golden beach, where he spent most of the day swimming in the clear waters that sparkled in the crisp sun. Just after lunch Perrin met up with a group of guys around the same age as him who were over from UK to have a good time.
As day turned to night Perrin found himself following the group of guys along as they traveled down the beach, visiting the bars that lined the beach. Finally coming to stop for a while at a relatively new bar that was packed with young, gorgeous girls from all over the world. Perrin sank the final of 3 shots that the group of guys were doing and let out a whoop before taking a seat on a barstool as the guys headed to the dance floor.
As Perrin watched the DJ keep the crowd of people pumped his eyes followed two girls who had left the dance floor and were walking to wards the bar as they sat down to have a drink Perrin signaled over a bartender "Once Mojito for me and two Cosmopolitans for the girls down there. " Perrin told the bartender. He watched as the bartender mixed the cocktails like he'd been doing it for years.
"From the man down the bar" The bartender said pointing to Perrin as he placed the two cosmopolitans in front of the girls. Perrin raised his glass in the direction of the two girls and took a refreshing sip, the crisp flavours leaving his tastebuds tingling . Standing from his stool, he gave them a cheeky smile before heading to the dance floor, Mojito in hand.

Sam and Angie were sitting at the bar, speaking of random things that had passed in their lives, when the bartender gave them another round of drinks. Angie opened her eyes in fascination, and stopped Sam from returning them, just as the barman said the man down the bar had shouted them a round. Sam looked in the direction of the man and smiled, lipping ‘thankyou’ to him.
Angie nudged Sam, “Go introduce yourself.”
“Why don’t you?” Sam asked Angie with a wild look.
“Because, I already spotted a guy. Besides, you don’t need a funny bugger like me hanging off you all night. Go have some fun. You’ve locked yourself in that apartment for days.”
“I have not!” Sam insisted. Angie gave Sam another nudge and whispered ‘go’. Sam had no choice, as Angie got up and took off with the drink. That sly thing, Sam thought to herself. She’d rather not be lonely in a packed place like this, and with the nod from the barmen, Sam picked up the drink and wandered in the man’s direction.
She found him just on the outskirts of the dance floor, when she walked up to him with a friendly smile, “Hi,” she said loud enough for him to hear over the music, ‘I thought I’d say thankyou in person.”
She gestured to the drink she held in her hand, and took a sip. Once again letting the fizzling liquid drip down her throat, the path it left leaving a cooling sensation un-matched by any drink she had, had this night. The music thumping its way, like a humans heart beat, just with the ocean sparkling from the moons dazzle looked upon the club.

Brandon Smith and about six of his Marine friends walked into the club. They were rather noisy considering the fact that they had just gotten of a mission and were celebrating their recent victory. Brandon walked over to the bar and ordered seven beers and handed one to each of his companions. They just continued to laugh and joke with one another as they drank their beer looking around at all the women on the dance floor pointing out a few and nudging each other at the mention of one of the women. All in all they were pretty happy to be in each others company.

Sam smiled at the person, she had just spoken to, while she let her eyes dance around the club. It looked pretty wild, and as the music kept the group on the dance floor moving, all in sync Sam couldn’t help but look for her companion, Angie.
Her curious eyes wandered up to the bar, looking for her friend, but she did not catch one glimpse of her blonde friend. Except her eyes landed on a group of marines. They were loud and many eyes were beginning to focus on them, Sam let her eyes wander of the marines, in search for Brandon. In a way she hoped he’d be there, in another way she truly didn’t.
Yet, her eyes did not deceive her. There was Brandon, celebrating with his fellow officers, as loud as any of them. Sam let out a deep breath, and watched him a moment, before turning away, and taking another sip of the drink this man had shouted for both her and Angie. It was quite appetizing, and the liquid was thirst clenching despite the fact it had alcohol in it.

Perrin watched the girl who had caught his eye earlier, one of the two that he had bought a drink for make her way through the throng of people. "My pleasure. I'm Perrin" He said when she thanked him for the drink. "Want to dance?" He asked offering his hand, his other lifted his mojito to his mouth, draining the remaining alcohol before he handed it to a passing bartender. Perrin watched as her eyes were drawn to a loud group of guys at the bar, thinking nothing of it he looked away.

Sam returned her eyes to Perrin. A amiable smile ripped across her face, as she took his hand, “I’d like that very much. I’m Sam.”
She drank the rest of her drink, before reaching over to place it on a table, where a worker would come and pick it up. She turned her eyes quickly to where Brandon was, trying to steal another glance. What was wrong with her? Was she possessed by him? Oh, she did not know. Her eyes retreated back to Perrin, “It is a pleasure to meet you, Perrin.”

"The pleasure is all mine" Perrin said with a smile before leading her further into the dance floor. The music got faster as did the crowd, controlled by whatever music the Dj decided to play. Perrin moved in closer to Sam. Though he didn't consider himself a good dancer he knew he was above average, he let the music control his movements as the music changed pace so did his moves. "You from around here" Perrin asked leaning in close so she could here him over the music. Occasionly he would feel someone bump into him and he even saw one guy completly fall on his arse, before he was helped up by his mates laughing at the state of his drunkeness.

Sam followed Perrin through the crowd, until they found a place to dance. As the music started she let the beat tap into her. She had been taught many different styles of dances, many in which she enjoyed. The music controlled her muscles in a way, that moved in her movements.
A smile still edged on her face, as someone in the crowd fell. She was glad she’d never been wasted like that man. He’d be feeling pretty sick the next day. She moved closer to Perrin as he asked whether she was from around here, and she shook her head light, “No. Africa is my homeland,” she looked at him, “Though I have a feeling you are neither from here, am I right?”
The music was loud, so it was hard for many to communicate. Sam could see Brandon and his fellow Marines, from where she stood, out the corner of her eye. However, she tried ever so hard to block him from her thoughts.

Perrin laughed. "Yea accent kind of gives it away huh. From New Zealand." Perrin felt the vibrations of the bass run up his back as he continued to dance with Sam in the bright flashing lights and the glow of the moon from the beach not to far down the way. "Below Australia." Perrin added, many people he met always wondered where New Zealand was and if they were to guess by his accent alone they always thought he was Australian. "Want to grab another drink?" Perrin asked bruhsing his fringe from his eyes.

Sam smiled, and nodded, indicating she knew where New Zealand was. She watched as the crowd danced in a mixture of colours, however, all moving in a similar rhythm. Music seemed to have some pleasantness about it, it brought people together, and made them relate to one another in a different way, other then political.
When Perrin asked, whether she wanted to get another drink, she nodded. Dancing was one of her favourite past times but even that could throw one out of wack for awhile. She moved slowly through the crowd of people, and up to the bar, glancing behind to see where Perrin was. As she moved up to the bar, the crowd of marines caught her eyes for a second. Immediately she distracted herself from them, and moved slowly to an empty space, waiting to place an order.
She turned to Perrin, “Ok. This one is on me.”

Brandon continued to laugh and party with his Marine friends watching everyone that walked here and there. He noticed Samantha casting glances over at him from time to time. He was in the mood for a good time and couldn't help himself really. He mentioned her to his boys and they looked over and nodded as he walked over to her. He noticed that the bartender was giving Samantha a drink. " I'll have the same as her. " He said gesturing to Samantha who he was now standing next to. " Hello Miss. My name is Brandon Smith and you are? " He asked with a sort of sway.

Perrin sat himself down beside Sam, he couldn't help tappin away with his foot in time to the music. "Ah doing rounds are we." Perrin said putting away his wallet and letting her buy him a drink. As she placed her order, Perrin asked for a beer of any sort, he wasn't in the mood for a fancy drink at this time and he didn't need anymore sugar so a cool beer was his best option. As the bartender returned Perrin took the beer. "Thank you." He said to Sam, the bartender most likely thought he was being thanked but he was wrong. With their drinks a new arrival appeared beside Sam. With him were a group of guys they all had a sort of cocky aura around them but they held themselves like some sort of 'soldiers' Perrin guessed.
By the way the man talked to her it was as if he knew her, but when he asked her name he was confused and assumed this was the first time they had met. Perrin looked over his shoulder and saw the guys from UK that he had arrived at the bar with in the middle of the dance floor going crazy. Smiling Perrin took a swig of his beer and placed it back on the bar as he watched Brandon.

Sam handed the money over to the bartender for the drinks, “Men can’t do everything,” she giggled, “Besides you brought the last one.”
As she sat with Perrin, she caught, from the corner of her eye, a figure emerge from the crowd of marines, head her way. She turned her head slowly and noticed it was Brandon, he ordered the same drink as her, and she watched him for a moment. At first, she thought he was going to apologise but when he asked her, her name, she had to swallow for a second.
“Haha, very funny Brandon. Don’t play games with me,” she watched him for a moment. He seriously couldn’t have forgotten her. She felt a bit un-easy about the situation, something was a-miss. He had to be playing with her, but the way he came up was as though he did not know her at all.

He was a little surprised by her response to his question. He cast a glance back to his buddies wondering if they had set him up or something and they just shook their heads and shrugged their shoulders. He turned back around and faced Samantha. “ I am not joking around miss. I am only asking for your name. “ He said with a rather confused voice. He tried to remember if he had ever met this woman before. However, he could not remember her face at all. If he had met her he would have defiantly remembered her.
