It has been almost one week now since Alanna was on her own, not speaking to anyone, hiding most of the time. Since one week she was a vampire now, but she had not eaten, or drunken any blood, she was not hungry. From England, London, she now had traveled on board of a huge ship to reach America at last. She had stayed hidden in the lower rooms where hardly ever anyone came into, and now, at night, had at last left the ship so that no one would see her. She still was carrying the ring Matthew had given to her, she had not put it away since he told her to bring it to his daughter Sara. She was not sure how to find Sara, all she knew was that she probably will find a hint of how to find her here in the United States. She now was standing at the Port, looking around, deciding to walk into one direction at last, hoping to find someone who could help her find the way to the Headquarter of the Vampires maybe, or anyone. She felt lost in the moment, not sure where to go to, too less she knew yet about the real world of vampires, not only theory as her master had taught her.

The America's were a very interesting place, even more so for someone who was not from that area. She had arrived in a port in South Carolina. Brandon Smith, happened to be, at the same time, in this area. The Resistance had a base not but six miles from the dock and Brandon was there on inspection. It had been a long day for him as a few things had not gone as according to plan. He walked down towards the docks, hoping the sound of the water would sooth his thought. He found a bench and took a seat. He took forth his pipe and filled it and began to smoke. He watched the ships for a while. As he did he noticed a single figure leaving as one of the ships in a quiet, spy like fashion. He raised his eyebrow and watched the figure draw closer. As she walked he slowly rose from his chair and began to follow her, using the darkness as his friend.

At last Alanna decided to walk into one direction that seemed to lead towards the center of the city, she walked swiftly, feeling that someone was near her. She could not feel if it was a supernatural being or a human, she was too less experienced there. But it made her walk faster, she feared another meeting with a demon or other creatures that want to kill her, or at least fight her. She was not used being a vampire yet, at least she was trained in fighting from a far, where she could simply shoot bullets at her enemy. It was completely different for her in a combat fist to fist, as there only strength counted. Fiona felt that the person near her was moving, staying close to her. She feared that he was following her now, and slowly felt for the ring, making sure it still was deep hidden in her pocket, she did not want to lose it. Quickly, she looked over her shoulder, trying to see with her vampire eyes that were used to see far especially in darkness, scanning her surroundings for this follower.

Brandon instantly knew that she was aware of him following and her took extra caution in his approach. As she turned he quickly stepped into an alley out of her line of sight. He stroked his chin in thought. She must be running from something if she is this cautious about being followed. However, how did she know he was following her without ever looking behind her but this one time. Perhaps she was a creature, a supernatural one of some sort, more than likely a vampire. He thought all this and as he thought of a vampire and felt back around his belt and felt the gun and holster and nodded. The clip with full of silver bullets that would at least slow a vampire down. Once he was sure she was no longer looking her popped out of the alley and began to look for her once again.

Alanna turned around again, she hadn’t seen anyone behind her, but she knew someone was there. Maybe he had been hiding, she could not tell, she just hoped it was not who she thought it would be, the beast, coming after her, now that this cruel demon had killed Matthew. After checking that the ring was at it’s place, she had not yet dared put it on one of her fingers because she was not sure what it’s powers were, she slowly slipped her hand in another pocket of her long black coat. There her pistol was that her old master had given to her, when she still was a vampire hunter instead of now being one of the vampires. It was the only weapon save a few daggers, also made out of cold steel and silver, to defend herself. She now slowly pulled it out of her pocket, it was loaded with silver bullets, to be ready if anyone would attack, whatever creature it would be. Who could this person be, lurking around this place at such a late hour? She actually doubted it would be a human, hardly even thought of this possibility. Her only hope was that it was a vampire, and her greatest fear it was a lycan or even this demon. Once again, she turned around, and now stopped walking at all, focusing all her senses on where this person was. She was standing beneath a street lamp, so easily could be seen, but did not care, she wanted to know what was after her, who was following her.

In a moment he had spotted her, standing underneath a street light. The light shown down onto her showing her form. She was a woman, Brandon now noticed. There were still many questions that needed to be answered. He looked over and there was a phone booth. He thought for a moment and pulled out his cell phone. He called the number that was on the side of the booth and the phone began to ring, and ring and ring.

Alanna at last could see a dark figure standing there in the darkness. She did not move, just stared into the direction of the dark shadow, she hardly could recognize anything save that it seemed to be a human, or at least a creature in human form. Although, the first option she would prefer. She saw that he raised his hand when he pulled out his cell phone, but that she did not see. She almost jerked, almost sure he now would attack, but stopped herself, and wondered what he actually was doing. She had not yet noticed the phone booth not far away from her, but suddenly the phone began to ring. She stared at the dark human figure once more, before slowly moving over to the booth, ready for an attack once more. She was scared, but she had experienced much evil lately, being turned against her wish, fighting, hiding, being haunted, she could not be cautious enough. At last she picked up the phone and held it to her ear. After one moment she spoke "Hello?" She was not sure what to say at all, not sure with whom she spoke, not sure what his intentions were. Her vampire senses have not been trained enough to sense the race of this person, neither if she maybe already would know him from somewhere or not. Even although she had been a vampire for one week now, she was fighting against it, still refusing to kill anyone for blood, and lacking training in any other vampire skills and habits. She refused the fact that there was no way to change her back to human form again, that she wished for most.

Whenever Alanna went into the phone booth Brandon ducked back behind the alley so she could no longer see him. She answered and he was silent for a moment. He let her wonder what was going on. Then he spoke. " What is so important that you were forced to sneak a ride on an English ship and then stow away for your journey and sneak off into the streets of Charleston? " He asked in a deep raspy voice as he climbed a fire escape to the rooftop to where he could look down at her and her not be able to see him. He pulled his pistol and placed a small scope on the top of the weapon and took aim with his free hand and waited for her reply.

Sara had slept the past few nights rattled by dreams. Dreams that told her something awaited her in Charlestown. She did not know what it was, but it concerned the future, and her destiny revolved around it. She had sensed another vampire presence. Only this vampire did not fully know her potential nor how to control her powers. She must be new to immortal life, as hunter.
Sara let her mind concentrate on the new vampire and lead her straight towards her. But this other vampire was not alone. She was being stalked by a mortal, and this mortal was armed. Sara slowly drifted into the building the vampire had sought refuge in, in hope that she would loose the mortal. Yet, she had not succeeded in that.
Sara came up behind a fence, near a large garbage bin, out of sight of the mortal, and using telepathy, sent a message to this other vampire, “Do not fear me,” her voice echoed in the other vampires mind, “I am Sara. The mortal is armed. He seeks to keep you concentrating on him so he can have a clear aim. He is hidden but if you focus your sight on the fire exit he is there. If your eyes will not allow you to sense it, use your other senses. Your hearing should tell you when he pulls the trigger. I will try and distract his attention, if you can move out of sight.”
Sara was directly beneath where he stood, only he was not able to see her either. Both of them were at advantages and dis-advantages. This time Sara transported herself to beside him, “I’d leave her alone if I were you.”
She crossed her arms across her chest, but she was still in a position where she was able to depend on her reflexes to move from any attack. She had been quite an athlete before her father had died, and she still maintained that fleet and swift ability to direct her muscles. She watched his muscles, knowing that any movement from them would suggest his reaction and movement. Making it easy for any attacks to predict. She had seen this man at the White House, not two weeks passed, but whether he recognised her, was another thing.

When Brandon spoke at last on the phone, Alanna wondered who he really was, any other hostile creature would probably not have reacted like that, but rather began the dialog with a threat. She answered him "How come that this interests you?" she asked him back coldly. She now supposed it had to be a human, and wondered what human had interest in her, she had not let slip through that she was a vampire. If he was a hunter, how could he know, she wondered. Or didn't he know, and only wanted to make sure? Alanna had not noticed Sara's presence around, and was completely taken off guard when suddenly a voice appeared in her mind. At first, she thought someone stood behind her, and swiftly turned around to check on this, but there was no one. She had not known vampires had the ability of mind-speaking, but at least learned something new. What luck, she thought, a vampire called Sara was there, hopefully it really was truly the vampire girl she was looking for. All she knew about her was her name, and her father's name. She tried to answer Sara, also through her mind, hoping that this would work. "Thank you for your help." she spoke, not saying more for now, she first wanted to get rid of this hunter, who indeed seemed to be after her, and was armed. She looked up, but could not see much, the phone booth had a metal ceiling. She let the phone drop and stepped out of the booth, now looking up to see her enemy. Her pistol was drawn, although not aimed, but she wanted to be ready for whatever to happen, she at first waited now for the reaction of this hunter. She wondered who he was, if she knew him as only a few days she was a hunter herself.

Brandon was about to answer the question that Alanna proposed when Sara appaered beside her. Well as you can imagine that was a bit of a shock. Brandon lept aside and rose his pistol and fired a shot at Sara. He figured it wouldn't hit her but it would distract her long enough to hopefully escape. He jumped back down onto the fire escape and began to run down it as quickly as he could, not looking back for fear of loosing time. By now he knew he was dealing with two vampires and he was not properly armed for this task. He jumped from the fire escape and landed on the hard assfault. He hit the ground and rolled. However, as he landed he felt a slight snap in his ankle. Perhaps he shattered it, or sprained it, he did not know. He rose to his feet and felt the pain and collapsed back onto the desolate street pistol in hand looking for anyone that would approach him.

Alanna watched the whole scene from beyond, not daring to come in between Sara and the hunter at the moment. When she heared the pistol shot, she quickly ducked away, beneath a near corrugated iron that projected over another narrow house, so that the bullet would not hit her. After some moments, she lurked out to see what was going on again, it had become so quiet. She saw that Brandon was no longer on top of the building, but lying on the ground beneath the fire escape, he seemed to be hurt. She remembered the time when she was a hunter, and stepped forward, being so naive to believe he would not be prepared to attack her. But something about him reminded her of her past, she just did not know for sure what it was.

As he lay on the ground, in pain due to his ankle he watched as the vampires stepped out from the shadows. Brandon was not one to ask questions, he was more of a shoot first ask questions later sort of guy. As soon as the woman's figure stepped into just the littlest bit of light he fired his pistol. The first shot glanced over her shoulder, not harming her while he fired two more directly at her heart hoping to strike her and have time to escape. He was unsure of where the other vampire was but he didn't want to stick around if he didn't have to.

When she heard the first shot, Alanna quickly turned to her side, so the first bullet missed her shoulder. The two following bullets hit her although, as she turned one hit her left shoulder, the second one hit her side. Alanna groaned out of pain and her legs felt one moment long as if they would give way beneath her. But instead, after a moment of shock, somehow she had not seen Brandon's reaction come in this moment, even although she should have, she grabbed her pistol with her healthy hand, and shot back, towards Brandon's arms so she would hit his chest.

He was unsure of whether or not his bullets had struck his target but in another instant he felt two great thuds against his chest. It was his custom, because of the line of work that he was in, to always have a bullet proof vest on his body. He, lucky did so on this occasion. However, the pound of the bullets still knocked his back onto the ground. As he lay there an idea struck him. His grasped his pistol in his hand and appeared as if he was dead and waited to see if the vampire would come over to feed on him or check to see if he was still alive. He made no movements and did not but hardly breath as he waited.
