"I'm not denying that it exists, I just don't know that I want to be that way," he said seriously, "and as for the sword, I'm really best with knives; no need for swords on a fishing ship, and a little conspicuous. Besides, around here knives and guns are what you need to worry about, as your friend Pete there witnessed," he said, motioning towards the still eating boy. "Those guys are trouble; don't go trying to wreak your revenge. All that causes is more trouble," he cautioned.

"I wouldn't go looking for trouble," she stated firmly, "Pete is a pretty quick healer. Had they killed him their souls would be in my hands right about now, but seeing as the damage is quickly overcome there isn't a need for that. That is with one or two exceptions. The super natural. If one of those people happened to be a demon, vampire, or lycan (lets hope not) then I would have no choice to take it personally. Also, however since I am not Pete's mate, I can't totally put that in my hands, that's up to Arai." she hugged her knees as she sat in the chair explaining. "Not to mention it wouldn't be a fair fight, and how would they explain the deaths or disappearances? I don't want to ruin other's lives due to my personal vendetta when no damage was permanent." Namir walked over to Pete and pulled back the bandage on his arm revealing a pink scar which looked like it had been there for weeks now.

"It takes alot more than a few bullets to kill me, they got lucky I didnt go Lycan on em, I was trying to keep a low profile." he said with a grin, almost swallowing the crab hole. "And as for not causing trouble: What would I do for fun?"

Namir couldn't help but smile, Pete's statement was exceptionally true. "I still don't understand how they even touched you. When I was tracking the scent I was expecting to find something way worse, like a crime scene, or at the least chicken's blood. Never you. But Life has its little surprises I guess."

Jarrod treated her to a soft, knowing smile, a strange look in his pale green eyes. "Oh, they're far from supernatural, I can assure you of that," he said in a calm and sure voice. Jarrod was the kind of person who could listen unobtrusively. He also put people at ease when talking to them, which meant that he knew almost everything that went on at the beach. He glanced at Pete. "A mate?" he questioned, "So you've got a girl, then, Petey boy? Aww, how precious!" He reached over and ruffled Pete's blond hair, a teasing light entering his eyes. "A little wolf girl for Petey!"

"Well Jarrod, If you werent such a good host, I'd have to take you down... aww what the hell, lets take this outside!" Pete said laughing as he walked over and picked up Jarrod and hauled him outside. "C'mon guys, lets go for a swim, we might as well enjoy the beach while were here." he said, taking off his shirt and running into the water. "And as for Arai, she may be a little wolf girl, but I'll bet five bucks she can take you down." He said, floating on his back, enjoying the cool water.

Namir shed her precious boots and ankle strap and rolled up her cargo pants to her knees, dangling her feet in the water. Egh.. Crabs. She thought, cringing. "I'll just stay out here if you don't mind, I've always been sort of cat like when it comes to water. I've always been too paranoid of a shark attack." she laughed nervously.

"Yeah, I have the same problem with being in Rome.. except Vampires bite alot harder than sharks. But you of all people know that neither Vampires nor sharks scare me. Hey Namir, tell Jarrod that story, it always sounds cooler coming from you." He said with a grin.

"Which story?" she said making circles in the water with her toe. "The one where you valiantly save my vulnerable human ass?" Namir grinned to herself.

Jarrod splashed in after Pete, dunking his head beneath the salty waves. A few moments later, he popped up, hair dripping into his eyes. "Sharks?" he said, "No sharks have ever attacked at night; I come out here all the time." Swimming up next to Pete with a few powerful strokes, he pushed down on him, dunking him deep underwater. "I wouldn't try to fight her! And you maybe can beat me at running, but I can whup your tail - literally - on a board anyday, anytime!"

"Yeah, that would be because I've never surfed. But surfing wont help you when your fighting Vampires. And yeah, thats the story, lets hear it Namir. Enlighten our friend." He said as he surfaced, spitting salty water out of his mouth.

Namir cleared her throat, "So I told you about how I had that gem of a fiance a while back. Well this story stems from that one. The night that I left my house I passed out on the street side and Pete came up and took me away to the forests edge, tracking the scent of my blood from my bleeding hand. There I regained consciousness, and we discussed lycanism, but ofcourse, trouble found us. A vampire named Rick was up in the trees spying on us, and when Pete finally bit me, it pissed Rick off and he fired at the both of us. I took shelter in a tree while Pete met him in the air to vanquish him with balloons full of holy water and his strength and speed. It was pretty cool." She recited the story, the memories flooding back to her and the scar of bite marks on her shoulder seemed to make its self more prominent under her tank top strap.

He treaded water, listening to the unusual tale. "That's one for around the campfire," he commented. "I can't say I've ever faced up against a vampire before. I assume that mini water bottle is full of holy water?" he said with a raised eyebrow. Cupping his hands together, he squirted a jet of water at Pete's face. "Since I normally don't fight vampires, then I find surfing very useful, actually." Then he ducked under the dark surface of the ocean. About a minute later, he had still not resurfaced. The waves lapped gently against the shore with no sign of Jarrod.

Namir waited a few seconds, debating whether or not to go in. In this case, she had to, Jarrod was just too hot to drown, or even pretend to. Quickly she slipped the vials and other contents into her boots that sat on the dock and dove in. "What was that???" she screeched, something had brushed her foot. Even though the water wasn't quite deep enough she still thought shark, she reached down with lightening fast speed and jerked whatever it was up that had had touched her. "Oh.. seaweed." she laughed nervously. Namir scanned the water for more signs of Jarrod, and hoping the rip tide hadn't carried him off.

Under the green hues of the ocean, Jarrod heard a muffled splash. Soon, a pair of finely muscled legs appeared a few feet away. If he wasn't holding his breath, he would laugh. A piece of seaweed wrapped its slimy self around her leg, causing her to jerk it off. He could only imagine her face as she looked for him. With a few lazy kicks, Jarrod was right next to her, out of sight beneath the night waves. Planting his feet firmly in the wet sand, he propelled himself upwards, bursting out of the water not a foot from her face. "GRAAAAHHHHH!!!!" he roared, flinging his arms above his head. Grabbing her around the waist, he picked her up before she could react and dove under again, dragging Namir with him. Popping up a short distance away, he treaded water, grinning at her. "Whoops, I must have slipped. Did I get you wet?"
