Sam listened to him thoughtfully. Wondering whether her stomach would fit in steak of the size. She laughed, “I was never one for seafood. But you know what, I think I might try the steak. You never know, what you can take till you try.”
There wasn’t many women who took on that challenge, but Sam was willing. She had always enjoyed the comfort of good food, when she could and she never took the flavour for granted. Any day, some disastrous event may stop you from the privileges of good cooked food, and you may never get it back again.
She crossed her arms across the table, “So, do you enjoy outings such as this?” she asked him. Just a squirt of curiosity that seemed to dwell inside, even while she was off the job she had a curious and stubborn nature. But, stubbornness was not always a fault. Sometimes, it could save your life. In others it might be the cause of your death. Like the curious cat. As the phrase says.

He listened and nodded as the waitress came back over. He smiled to her and told her what they desired to eat. She then opened the wine and poured them both a glass of the white wine before placing it back in the ice and smiling at Brandon for a moment before walking off. Brandon naturally smiled back at the woman before turning to Samantha. " Well it is not usually the outings that i enjoy but the people. ' He said with another smile as he gazed right at her for a moment. " After all, life is about who you choose to spend it with. " He said with another smile as he took his wine glass and took a sip from the glass before setting back infront of himself.

Sam watched the waitress. It seemed she had an eye for her companion. Was she jealous? She could be. Sam watched the wine fill her glass, like a rain fall filling a pool after a drought. She watched the waitress walk away, before returning her attention back to Brandon.
She listened to him, and nodded at his statement, “Not always. For me, it is not who you are with, but how you spend it. You have the choice of the people you will to be around, but you do not always have the choice, to be where you want to be,” she took a sip of the wine, and let it fill her mouth with the flavour. She had not been a huge fan of wine, but she did enjoy it, occasionally. She placed the glass back down, and let the candle light slowly fill the glass, and let it gleam like a diamond. It was only a reflection, but sometimes even the most simple things could be beautiful.

He listened to her and nodded, stroking his chin with his hand, thinking about her words and what she was saying. He did indeed agree with what she was saying and he smiled and nodded in agreement. " Well i agree with you. " He said with a smile. " But i also believe that a life with out companionship is pointless. " He said calmly as he ran his hand through his short brown hair. " But what you choose to do with those companions will indeed change the outcome of your life. Look a me, look at what i chose to do for the rest of my life and now...." he stopped his sentence short and said no more. He just took his wine glass and took another sip of the wine and shook his head and sighed softly, hoping she would not hear.

Sam listened. It was good someone actually agreed with her opinion. She was very opinionated, and sometimes her opinions would be very dangerous, but they were hers and no one would make her change them. Not unless, they had a good argument and made her see otherwise.
She paid so much attention to what he was saying, about his life, that she noticed he did not finish the sentence. Something troubled him, she didn’t know what. But she knew something did, “Life is not always easy. Sometimes your choices give you bad results. But you have to remember why you made those choices. Obviously there was a good reason behind why you made a choice to become a Leader.”
Sam looked at Brandon compassionately, “But do not ever have regrets about your choices. The more you regret things the more you are going to miss out on the good things, that slowly come along.”

He listened to her and couldn't help but smile as she attempted to comfort him even though she knew nothing about the problem. It was indeed a noble gesture in his book and he nodded. " Indeed that is true. You can not dwell about the past, for the past is history and it can not be changed no matter what you try to do. All you can do is look to the future and once and a while something good may happen. Perhaps this is one of those times. " He said with a kind smile. " Here i am, sitting in a lovely setting, with a beautiful woman, i do not suppose i could have imagined a scenario better than this one. " He said with another smile.

Her eyes did not leave his, while he spoke of history and how you could not change it. She noticed his smiles, it was good to see him smile. However, she knew something must be troubling him. Then suddenly, another compliment towards her appearance and the scenario, that held them together.
“My parents taught me, along time ago. That we can only trust our hearts and let fate decide to where we go next. If that is indeed true, I can sincerely agree with your comment upon this night. When I first, began travelling here, I never considered that something such as work might land me in a place as fine as this. Nor with someone, as kind as you.”
She thought it was her turn to compliment him. He had been complimenting her all night, it was the smallest token she could give him for now. Along with another warm and friendly smile.

He smiled at her compliment and took a deep sigh and sat back in his chair. " Well i suppose then that you are ready to hear the information that you are seeking. " He said with a sigh. " Have you come up with any questions and specifics that you would like to know that i might be able to help you in answering? " he asked kindly as adjusted in his chair so that he was comfortable and ready to answer any questions thats she might ask him. After all that was the real reason she was here after all so he would not hold her from her business any longer .

Sam nodded, “Perhaps we should get started. You do not mind being voice reordered do you?” she asked, taking up her bag and taking out a very small voice recording device. She placed it on the table between the both of them. She would not press the button, unless he consented to it. If he said it was alright, then she would. She would not ask any personal information, including anything about locations. She knew from experience, that they tended to keep their location pretty much under wraps.
She would not risk exposing these people to their enemies. She had already thought about that, and she would strongly edit her information. So that no traces or links could be found to help find locations. She had been generally quite privileged as to finding The Resistance and she would not take that for granted.

He looked at the recorder and laughed and nodded. " Of course i don't mind. Its either you record what i say or you write it down. Either way you are going to learn what you want so no, it doesn't matter to me whether or not you use a voice recorder. " He said with a smile as the waitress brought them their food and set it before both of them. " I hope you wouldn't mind if i eat while i am questioned. " He said with another smile as he began to crack open one of the legs of the crab and slowly pull forth the juicy meat that lay between.

Sam nodded. There was no way, that she was going to write any information out. She would likely loose the paper with the information, of some liquid might spill over it. So she thought it more easier to record, “Good,” she watched as the food was brought over to them.
With a smile she thanked those who served them, “No. I do not mind. Food keeps the mind functioning,” she smiled. She looked at what she had ordered. The aroma, made her stomach grumble in hunger, and it did look good, “On one condition,” she looked up at him, “You don’t my eating, while asking questions.”

He laughed and shook his head. " Of course i do not mind. It wouldn't be fair if i were to eat and you weren't allowed to know would it? ' He asked with another smile as he placed a piece of the crab into his mouth and sighed from satisfaction before looking back up at her. " Ask away. " He said as he took another piece of crab and began to eat that as well awaiting her questioning to begin.

Sam nodded, “No. I do not think it would be fair. But, in some tribes in Africa women are not allowed to eat with men,” she said with a gentle smile. Being African, it had made it hard for her to adjust to the more civilised ways of living. When she first entered places of higher standards and quality, she was unsure of how to react around people, because her culture had always placed men higher then women. Women were slaves to men, and must obey anything a man wished of them. But, as soon as she came to America and other countries similar to it, she found that 90% of the time, Men and Women were equal. It had taken her a long while to adjust to that. She took up a knife and fork, and gently cut a small piece of steak, small enough to fit in her mouth without any trouble. She chewed it for a moment, harvesting the flavour, it was good. She swallowed it with formality, and placed the fork beside the food, as she reached over to turn the voice recorder on.
“What do you think motivates vampires and lycans to oppose humans?” She tried to think of a statement to go with the question, and her eyes seemed to drift into the back of her mind, to where all her knowledge was stored, “We are a source of food for both creatures. Yet they still try to lower us and higher themselves, in order for power.”

He watched her as she ate and smiled kindly towards her when she mentioned Africa. That was indeed where she was from. One of his computer experts had pulled up a file on her and he had read everything about her. He listened to her question and nodded. " Indeed we are a food source for them. However, that is not all we are. They use humans for experiments as well. Certain bands of vampires try and better there kind so that they are perhaps immune to silver and garlic. Some even believe that eventually they shall be immune to the Sun. However, there has only been one vampire immune to Sunlight and his name i am sure you guess and i shall not uter in this place. " He said calmly.

Sam nodded, as she listened to the words he uttered. She thought, she knew of what he spoke. The vampire who was resistant to sun, but when he said he would not mention the name, she would not ask for it.
“Is it true that a vampire can love?” It was a random question, and as she said it, she bit her lip, “Or a lycan? Is it even possible for them to share the same emotion as humans?”
Sam herself, did not know whether the question was relevant to her article, but it just came out like word vomit. There was not putting a stop to it.
