Alerya kept her features calm and unwavering, so Brandon wouldn't be able to tell if she knew anything or not. She had heard whispers of this gas, really Jaran had, being the vampire he was, and she was practically attached to the hip with him when she was in France. But was she going to tell any of this to Bandon? No. Why should she? Just because he didn't kill her {yet} was no reason to go blabbering everything he wanted to know. "I may have heard something." She said, softly, picking at a string on her jeans. "Why are you so concerned about this, whatever, anyways?"

He laughed and shook his head at her attempt to seem like she had no idea. It was a simple ploy really. She had him at the start. Her body language gave nothing anyway, neither did the tone of her voice. However, at her last mention of that 'whatever' he had her. It was simple, anyone who forgets the name of something pauses, if only for a moment to at least think about what it is they are going to stay. There was no pause, it was an automatic 'whatever.' He had interrogated far to many people to be fooled by such a ploy. " Well i case you haven't already guessed, that might not fair so well for everyone else if the main killer of vampires was eliminated. " He said with a mocking tone.

Alerya looked at Brandon, incredulously. "So?" She said, in referral to the gas. She looked out down one of the tunnels where a grate was, wishing the sun would set faster. It wasn't like she was going to try the gas, too big of a risk in her mind. She picked at some of the chipping nail polish on her fingernail.

He laughed and shook his head. " Well think about it this way. Vampires, are bad enough in the night let alone during the day and the night combined. " He said shaking his head. " That would just make work even more complicated for me. After all, there are already enough of your kind that need to be killed already. " He said with a shake of his head. " But tell me this...." He said calmly. " There are those that dislike being a vampire. Why do they not just end their miserable existence before they hurt more people anyway? " He asked calmly.

Alerya looked at Brandon. "Eh, I guess you're right, about the gas." She said. "And if you don't like vampires, then why don't you just save yourself and jump off a bridge?" She asked, cocking an eyebrow at him. Throwing the situation back at him.

He laughed and stroked his chin playfully as he listened to her question. " Because i do not kill innocent people for the sake of my own gain.....thats why..." He said calmly as he leaned against the cold stone wall looking over at her. " But i doubt that that is something you can understand, having a moral center. " He said as he folded his arms and continued to look at her. " There is just something about killing innocent people that i don't agree with, which is why i do what i do. " He said with a sigh.

Alerya looked up from her nails to Brandon, cutting him a dirty look. He did not just accuse her of killing innocent people!? She glanced back down at the knees of her jeans as she sat. She flopped over onto the cool floor, about the same temperature of her skin. "I don't kill innocent people either. It is just wrong. I only kill those who deserve to die." She said softly, closing her eyes.

He laughed and shook his head. " I do not look at it that way. " He said calmly as he began to walk slowly towards her as he spoke. " There are other ways of extracting blood than by bringing down the person. However, you vampires can not resort to these methods because you do not have the patience or the willingness to wait. I understand that some kills are out of necessity rather than fulfillment but that is a very slim percentage. " He said as he continued to stroll towards her." So, in my book, if a death can be prevented if just a little more time is given and a chance such as that is not taken.....then it is murder. " He said cooly as he stood about ten feet from her.

Alerya looked at him, making sure he was serious. She snorted and started giggling, something very unladylike. But it was just too funny. "We live for centuries and yet have no patients and no willingness to wait." She started giggling all over again to herself. "You're amusing." She said, grinning as she looked up at the ceiling. "What about the vampires that only kill the murderers of this world, or kill the ones who set out to harm people, but kill them before they can? What do you have to say about them, eh?" There was nothing on the ceiling, no design, no fancy brick work, nothing like the underground tunnels in Paris, the catacombs. "Have you ever been to Paris?" She asked softly, it just slipped out.

He was listening to her speak of all the vampires that supposedly did good, by helping the humans. However, something inside of him was telling him that there were not very many of those sort of vampires. Then she suddenly asked if he had been to Paris. Well that was completely random and completely off topic. He scratched his head and nodded. " Uhh, yes i have but what does that have to do with anything? " He asked with another sigh. " I have been everywhere, Rome, London, Venice, Moscow, you name it i have been there. " He said calmly.

Alerya could tell by his body language that he didn't agree with her. She backpedaled on what she had said. "I don't by any means, think that all vampires are good. Just a few. Most though are the type to kill mercilessly. Which I don't agree with." She looked up at the ceiling bored, as her fingers rubbed the rough surface of the floor. "I was just thinking, down here, in the tunnels. . ." She was trying to choose the right wording. "A place in Paris I've been to, sort of like that. I was just going to ask if you had been there, but it's a stupid question, they have been sealed off for years, so." She shook her head, biting her lower lip. She was more then restless to get outside and breathe in the night air.

This vampire was truely someone special, that is for sure. Everything she said, did, acted upon confused him. She was inconsistent, random, completely out of the ordinary but all at the same time far far far to intriguing. What was it with this woman? It was like she could have him thinking one thing at one moment and then another thing the next and then knock him over the head with something completely random.....This was to much for him to handle and he had to sit down, which he did. " You are unlike any vampire or person i have ever met...." He said with another scratch of his chin and a shake of his head.

Alerya grinned at him. "And you'll never meet another like me." She said. She looked back at the ceiling, then down one of the tunnels to see the moon light shining through one of the grates. She stood and walked down the tunnel to the gate. Alerya looked at the grate, trying to figure out how to open it, and listening to see if anyone was near by. "Are you coming, or would you rather stay down here?" She called back to Brandon.

Brandon followed her with his eyes as she began to look for a way out of the sewer. He was rather happy that he could now leave this smelly area and he couldn't help but laugh as he watched her try and struggle with the iron grate. " Yeah, i am coming. " He said as he came over to the grate and ejected his claws and sliced through the grate, just enough room for them to fit though and in a few moments he found himself on the surface. He offered her his hand as to help her up out of the sewer. He retracked the claws so that she would not cut herself whenever she grabbed onto his hand as he looked around to make sure there were no people around......other than the ones he wanted.

Alerya reached up and took hold of the grate, suddenly an uneasy feeling washed over her. She let go of the grate and dropped to the cement floor of the tunnel. Something just didn't feel right. She started stepping back into the large room they had been in a few moments before. She debated which way to get out of the tunnels. Her options weren't looking good.
