The night was cold and young as the sun was still setting in the far off distance. Brandon Smith was alone, on his way to meet with the same news reporter that he had met with the night before. He remembered that night they had shared and couldn’t help but smile as he walked down the sidewalk to where his car was parked. He opened the door to the red corvette and got into the car, started the engine and began to drive the vehicle down the vacant streets. He looked around as he drove not noticing that every light before him was green and not another car was on the usually busy street. He continued to drive down the long 7th avenue with what seemed to be not a care in the world. Suddenly, as he continued to drive, something exploded in the second story of a building that was not but a block ahead of him on his left. His military instincts instantly took in. He pulled the corvette to the side of the rode and quickly drew the 9mm pistol from its holster which was strapped across his chest. He approached the building slowly. Small amounts of smoke came forth from the building but no screams, no cries for help, no people running from the building. It was a rather strange situation. The door to the building was open and Brandon stepped forth into the building scanning the hall for people. There was no one. He found the stairs quickly and galloped to the top as quickly as he could. Still not a sole could he find, still no cries for help, no movement, nothing at all. He found the room in which he had heard the explosion for there was still small amounts of smoke pouring from underneath the door. As he looked down at the smoke he realized that he did not smell the smoke. He did not cough, his eyes did not water. He was even more unsure of what was going on. He faced the door and rose his leg and kicked down the door. As he did so he dropped into an unconscious state.
Brandon awoke, on a bed with white sheets. The room had white walls, everything was white. His eyes darted back and forth attempting to understand what was going on. He attempted to move his arms, they felt heavier, his legs felt the same weight. He swung his legs over the edge of the bed and sat up. He felt light headed, still unsure of what was happened. He looked this way and that. As he did so the door to the room opened, three people entered. Two he could easily tell were scientists of some sort, however, the other was a woman. He essence was very mystical and he could not explain the presence that he felt about her. He asked his initial question. “Where am I?” He faced the three people and they walked over to him. “ You are in a safe place. You may be surprised at first and not used to the changes that have taken place.” said one of the scientists that had entered the room. “Changes! What changes? I feel heavier, but nothing more. What have you done?” He asked in a surprisingly calm voice. As he asked this question the woman stepped forth to speak. “The changes that you have undergone shall only aid you in your fight. I am not of human flesh and blood but of a higher power in which I have seen great potential in you. I have granted you with a great gift and with the help of these two men have created a man who shall be the most formidable enemy the creatures of darkness have ever faced.[/b]” As she spoke Brandon felt a great calmness surround him, as if she was controlling his thoughts and his emotions. “What changes?” he asked. At this the other scientist who had not spoken yet spoke. “Through your veins now runs a silver metal. Lighter than silver, but of the same metallic make-up. That is what we have done for you. If you attempt to push forth the metal from the knuckles in your hands, for that is where the silver, in the form of three claws shall emerge. The silver has been strengthened to where it shall not break no matter what you attempt to slash. You can use these claws to slash away either a Lycan, or a Hybrid for the silver is still an element of this metal.” he turned to face the woman. ‘She has given you the power of regeneration. Whenever you eject these claws and retract them once again your skin shall heal almost instantly and you shall feel no pain. The same shall be with the rest of your body. All minor scares or cuts that afflict you shall heal almost instantly. However, if you are mortally wounded the same toll shall be taken upon your body.” Brandon looked at the man in wonder and curiosity. “ Why me?” Were the only words in which he could think to ask and the woman responded. “I have seen your potential and your desire to fight against the dark forces of this world. If it a gift from a higher power and it is your for the taking. We shall return you to where we took you and you shall start anew. Good luck Mr.Smith[/b].” As soon as she finished speaking Brandon suddenly found himself back in the room that he had just broken the door down to. He looked around, his gun still in hand. He checked his watch. It had been almost a day since he had been in the room. He looked at his knuckles and thought and instantly the blades shot forth from them. They were about a foot long. He retracted them and shook his head. He turned and began to leave the room. He could not remember why he was in the room at all. All he could remember was back to the last week, everything from then till now seemed to be a blur. He decided he had better report back to the base.
