Satellites had detected an enormous movement in the United States. This movement did not consist of humans or Cameron and his resistance would have none about it. Besides, the average temperature of the creatures forming was like 50 degrees and obviously not human. Thank goodness for satellites and technology or Cameron and Brandon wouldn’t have seen this coming. The USS Roosevelt was called out into action and it headed towards Honolulu along with the fighter jets and bombers. They would remain several miles off the coast however and wait for any word from Cameron.
Because Cameron didn’t know who exactly the vampires were coming after with an army so vast, he couldn’t take any chances and did exactly what he should have done. He built the defenses up. Now, there was already a fourteen-foot high wall around the facility and this wall was patrolled by a good deal of men. However, Cameron increased the guards and now they all carried wooden bullets. Yea, that is a right, wooden bullets. They had the equivalent effect of a wooden stake when the vampire was struck in the heart. Usually, the clips in the guns would be half wood, half silver, but thanks to the alliance with the lycans, they didn’t need silver. Everything was changed out to wooden and all of the men had about five extra clips. Only half of the 50 cals that lined the walls and roofs of the facility were outfitted with wooden bullets, but the rest still had silver and would slow down the enemy.
Soldiers were pulled up to the base and men inside were running radar scans along with long distance scans. The only way to this island was by ship or plane. Any unauthorized ship or plane would see and met with hostility considering the fact that the resistance had gotten itself a couple missiles. It was really a bad idea to give Cameron this much time before you struck him. He was going to be prepared. That was the way he was and there was simply no changing that. Everything was ready and waiting in case they had to go on the defensive. Hopefully they wouldn’t have to, but if they did, there was no way in the underground facility except through the elevator and that could be closed off. Then there were enough rations for a long, long time.
