Drake had requested a meeting with Sara. She was the closest to Victor and if he could persuade her to call off the attack then she would most likely be able to change Victor's mind. He wanted to make sure that they didn't openly show themselves to the humans and he had reasons for believing this. He was waiting in the safe house of the Nest. It was an old rundown house that used to be used as a safe house for people in the witness protection program. However, it had long since been out of use. So, Drake used it for his clan and now he used it as a meeting place for Sara. And so, he waited.

The night time. The hour of the hunter. The hour of evil and darkness. However the most tranquil and peaceful part of the day. 80% of the population in the world slept during these hours, leaving less havoc and troubles to be caused during the sunlight hours. The night held a potential beauty, and if mortals could see that, they were special. Perhaps more then that. They deserved to be immortal. That is why vampires existed and had been given god-like abilities. But being given these abilities mean that the one gifted with them could play god?
Sara had came to the place arranged by Drake. Not fully understanding as to why he requested her presence, however, still being Queen she would adhere to any of her fellows. She had transported herself to the darkness of the room. A corner. So she might be able to see what took place. Her eyes scouted the area, like an alley cat preying in new territory until they landed on drake.
Dressed like an ordinary teenager with tight black jeans, converses and a black top she emerged her figure into the room, where she could be seen. Her dark hair swaying as she walked forward, “Hello Drake. What matters do you wish to speak with me about?”

Drake watched as Sara came into the room. She was not wearing the attire that he would predict a master vampire, the queen of vampires none the less, to be wearing. Either way, Drake did not say anything of this matter simply because it was irrelevant to the situation at hand. He had called her here for one reason and one reason alone. He needed to change her mind and stop the attack on the Resistance. Because Sara was in the position of power that she was in, Drake had to bow and he did so, but not fully. He still held a high office and did not have to grovel before the grand masters. He then took a look at Sara and beckoned for her to follow him as he walked into a lounge type room. He then sat down on a couch and beckoned for Sara to sit adjacent to him. “Good evening Sara, I am glad that you could make it tonight. I have a matter of grave importance and urgency that I need to speak with you about.” Drake said, taking a glass of water off the end table in front of him and taking a sip. There was a glass for Sara too if she chose to have some.

Sara watched her fellow comrade as he moved forward, taking a somewhat bow acknowledging her status. However, there was little difference between both roles they played, they were both vampires. Both in the midst of a revolution. Both in the middle of the Vampire’s take over. She nodded, showing that she approved of Drake’s obeisance, “Please, don’t bow. I may be a Queen but I do not expect the formality in which many think I do.”
She followed him to a room, and sat opposite him. Letting her eyes stray around again and take in the room. It lodged in her memory. An old lair perhaps? She was alert to the conversation he brought up and nodded, “Urgency, no doubt. Why did you not request Victor? After all he is more powerful then I.”
That could be a lie. Sara was gifted in different ways to many vampires, which meant she could be more powerful then Victor. However, she did not want to shake his authority and cause a wage of war between them. It would be an awful battle to see whom won. She moved her eyes to the glass of water. Was she thirsty enough for water? She leant forward and took up the glass, lifting it to her lips, letting the clear ad odourless liquid drip down into her throat.

Drake’s keen eyes watched her every movement, her every gesture, his eyes following hers. This was not entirely unnatural between two masters. Even though there was some sort of trust between clans and between the great ones of the councils, there was still mistrust and deception. Vampires were still vampires, each trying to grab power for itself and destroy the others. Such was the way of the world and this was not to be stopped or denied. It was simply how the entire world worked, not just the world of vampires. Drake listened as she mentioned that he should have gone to Vincent. That would have been his intention, but Drake and Vincent did not always see eye to eye. Granted they had fought together on previous occasions, but Drake was always one to speak out against Vincent and his motives, quite loudly at times. Coming straight to Vincent would possibly hinder the effectiveness of his plan. No, he was stay with Sara for now, “I would not go to Vincent, he is stubborn, and you know this.” Drake said, his voice almost hissing at the mention of Vincent, “You are far more…understanding. Besides, who more to persuade him that his lover.” Drake said, pausing. Then he continued, “I will get right into it. I do not approve of his attack on the Resistance, it is far too revealing.” Drake stated passionately.

Sara listened. She had not always been the best listener. Her past had tended to corrupt the good side of her. If vampires even had a good side. She placed the glass back on the table when she had finished the liquid. It certainly brought on some memories. She’d never thought that after living without any human dependents, such as water, would have such an effect. However, she pushed those thoughts rapidly away from her present moments attention.
She nodded at the way Drake explained Victor. She knew Victor, perhaps more then anyone else alive did. She agreed with what Drake said of him, for Sara also knew how stubborn Victor was, “He is stubborn, aren’t we all!” she exclaimed with a small grin, “However, it is good to be stubborn and focus on your will, especially if you are such a status as he.”
She showed no emotion, when Drake carried on with the rest in which he had to say. She just watched his lips shape the words, and let them soak into her mind. So, he was seeking to gain Sara’s aid in the cause, “Revealing? How might that be?”

Drake continued to monitor Sara’s every motion, half expecting her to do something to fight him or attack in some way. He didn’t know why he was this paranoid, he simply was. He didn’t like the unknown, which was why he tried to predict people. He used every method he could think of to try and understand and predict what people would do and how they would act. Such precautions usually kept him alive. He didn’t say anything for a while, biding his time while Sara spoke. When she mentioned how it would be revealing, Drake couldn’t help but close his eyes and roll them in his head. He didn’t want her to see him doing that because it was disrespectful, but that was how he felt at her comment and question. “How do you believe that it would not be revealing? For the past several hundred years vampires have been holding things down very well. How is this possible? It is possible because people simply do not know why exist. Those that do, are dead. What do you think will happen if we attack the Resistance? How will that be explained? Ideas are already circulating. Humans are smart enough to piece it together, and when they do, they are going to come for us,” Drake said, and leaned back in chair.

Sara nodded, “I see what you are saying.”
She took a deep breath, and stood up began to move around. Her hands on her hips as she began to consider what he spoke of. She did not truly enjoy sitting, it just made things seem more formal, and like meetings. The length in which it provoked annoyed her.
“Humans are smart. I grant them that, and the Resistance they are good. I would under no circumstances doubt their intelligence, nor what they are piecing together,” Sara turned and watched the other vampire as he sat back in his chair. Her eyes locking on the fellow, “I have attempted to persuade Victor towards not attacking The Resistance already,” she sighed. God had she tried to persuade him! Victor was controlled by power. It corrupted him easily.
“Victor looks at the past. He does what History could not. I have assured him many times that defence is the best policy to pursue, but he retaliates with saying and how many times have empires fallen to that strategy? Victor is not easily persuaded. My opinion matters little to him.”
