"You are referring to the incident that occured a few days ago," Iris stated. She knew about it well; it was she who was sent to contact the male lycan about Arai. Pete, his name was. A cocky, self-assured young boy. "He meant no harm, he just wanted to make sure she was okay," Iris said, "I contacted him and he will cause no further trouble. Though I do not know what he will do now with Arai and Cameron on the move."

"Wait, what?" Chris asked her curiously, "What do you mean, they're on the move?"

"The base was attacked," Iris stated, "A helicopter carried Arai, Cameron, and a small team of other marines to an undisclosed location. The intent of the attack is uncertain; it seemed to be related to Arai being on base, but we are not entirely sure. The assailant dissappeared and has not been found." Of course the girl wouldn't know; she had not been on base at the time. If Iris had not just told her, she would have found out for herself after she had gotten off work.

"But- uh..." Christina was shocked, maybe that's why he hadn't contacted her, "So, is it safe for me to go back after work?" She asked warily. She was a bit nervous about being here. Chris was never a military girl, she was just the supernatural informant and that was all, not a fighter.

"It is safe," Iris assured flatly, "Whatever the reason for the attack, the creature has not returned. If you are worried, stay in your room." Worry was another thing Iris had long ago given up on. It did nothing but drag you down, cause you to concentrate less on the present, on what was happening, and more on the future and the uncertain. If her time to die was coming, it would come whether she worried about it or not. Her black eyes scanned the room quickly, taking in any new details in the span of a few seconds. No threat was evident at the time. But still she did not relax her guard.

She nodded, "That is good to hear? Any word on if Cameron and Arai plan on returning?" She asked her curiously. Chris' worries soon fell away, remembering she'd had been warned about htis so she decided to not worry all that much. Plus, it didn't seem like Iris planned on being nice to her, or rather, caring so she decided not to do anything.

She shrugged, her shoulders lifting a few inches and lowering, back muscles flexing as she shifted on the stool. "No idea. No word either. It happened very abruptly - no time for plans. I suspect they will be there for at least a week until we are sure the threat is gone," she revealed. Iris watched as Christina accepted this and relaxed. She was sure it was not completely a surprise; as Cameron's girlfriend, he had probably warned her that he was under constant attack from on thing or another. "Anything else you wish to know?" she asked. This was actually a rare priveledge to have Iris ask anyone an open question - normally her questions were limited to finding information. But this was not, for Iris knew that were Cameron here he would most likely request that she tell Christina as much as she could. So she acted as if the command had been given and waited for a response.

Christina shook her head, "No, I'm fine," she said giving a faint smile," then she excused herself as a man ordered a drink, and then she returned. "Um, I'm sure this isn't a usual question but my time just ended so I'm gonna head back. If you're heading that way, we could go together. She knew that their military lives were busy but she didn't want to be rude, plus, someone in the whole place had to make up for lack of everyone else, especially-Brandon. He always had a stick up his a**.

Iris nodded in assent. "I will." It was not safe these days to walk alone, especially as a girl. Though it was unusual that Christina did not have an escort, especially if she was a proclaimed expert on the supernatural. "I will discuss a permanent escort for you as well," she decided. They were not so short on men that they could not spare a few to drive the five minutes here to pick her up.

"No I'm fine really, I mean yeah I'm scared but I'm good at killing...things. Plus, it took all my effort to keep Cameron from doing the same thing," she said putting on her jacket and pulling out two guns. She slipping them into holsters she had sewed on the insides of the jacket, and then headed back to the base with Iris.

"Very well," said Iris with a curt nod, "then I trust you can protect yourself." She noted the arsenal of the girl. Impressive for someone who did not specialize in fighting. Iris felt the cool weight of her own gun against her side, and also the number of other hidden weapons all over her body. If all she could do was move her head, she would still be able to fight. Her outfit was well-planned, all weapons stratigecally positioned to maximize their ability. Walking at a steady pace, her legs striding unstoppingly, she made sure not to lose Christina, but keep at her side or a few steps ahead. Her dark eyes made the night sky appear light as they scanned constantly, her senses on the alert for an attack.

_________________ Chris came to the bar where she used to work and got a drink. She was here mostly in hiding, though if Tirith seeked her, he would surely find her. She was beginning to hate this. She felt like a little wh*re, and yet, she loved Cameron, so how to set him free?
