She heard the snap of another rib break as he kicked her, but she was to the point where the constant throbbing pain couldn't get overly worse. She looked after them, her vision swimming, as they left her alone. Finally. She lay there for a while, fading in and out of consciousness, unable to do anything to help herself because of the handcuffs. It was funny how in times like these the least of your injuries caused you the most annoyance. The scrape on her face burned like a million small needles were poking her skin. She rolled over so that the deep gash on her leg was pressed against the ground. Other than that, she really couldn't do anything. Even the smallest movement hurt. But she fought for consciousness, knowing that if she closed her eyes they might never open again.

About ten minutes when by before one man opened the door to the room. He was young, probably around 19 years of age. He knelt down next to her with a kit of materials. " I am here to help. " He whispered softly. He had watched from the other room but was unable to stop the three because of the simple fact that there were three of them. He took out a needle and gave her a shot of painkillers and then rolled her over onto her back and took out a needle and stitching thread. He began to stitch up her wound on her leg as best he knew how.

Her vision was blurry and fading when she heard the door open again. Her mind commanded her body to move, but all she could do was lift her head. "I will not beg," Arai growled hoarsely. But it was not the men. As he knelt down, she could see that it was only one, and that he was around her age. She did not feel the prick of the needle or the stitches; her body was in too much pain to register any more. Arai vaugely remembered being on her stomach before she slipped away into unconsciousness again.

About an hour later, a blackhawk helicopter landed on the landing pad. Cameron and his captain, Nathan Gillette stepped out of the helicopter and entered the facility. The guards at the door saluted and let Cameron pass without any problems. They knew who he was and the importance he played in the operation they participated in. Cameron was here to take Arai to the main base in Hawaii. He had been informed that she had been beaten up pretty badly for some reason, resisting the soldiers, he was told. In any case he was under the impression that there was a hostile werewolf in the base. This shouldn't be because they had a mutual understanding between the two races, but who knows. Cameron was here to figure it out. Cameron walked down and to the cell that Arai was in.
Cameron looked into the room through the small window in the door. He sighed and shook his head. She was young, very young. She also was pretty well bruised. Cameron sighed and Nathan handed him a firearm loaded with silver. Cameron holstered it on his side and clipped the strap. He then ordered the door to be opened and he walked into the room. His hands were on his sides, his right hand, inches from his gun. If she became hostile he would be prepared. He doubted it in the condition that she was in. " Your name is Arai correct?" He asked. He still wasn't sure if she was conscious or not.

She had no idea what time it was, or when the teenager left her. She still lay in a pool of blood and water, bruised and battered. When she awoke, she was only aware of pain and thirst. Her small frame was dehydrated from blood loss. Barely able to lift her head, she looked at the sink, so far away. Her body felt like it was encased in lead, immobile. Arai heard the door open as if from a long distance and gazed out of glassy, feverish eyes at the figure that entered. It was not the teenager again, it was a large, muscular figure this time. Figuring it was the man coming back to torture her again, she struggled to speak out of her massively bruised throat. "Have you no pity?" she rasped, "you've already hurt me enough without reason. I will not beg for my life. Leave me alone!" Even that small task of talking was too much for her in the state she was in, and she faded out into blackness again.

Cameron raised an eyebrow. What the heck was she talking about? Beg for mercy? He wasn't going to make her beg for mercy. Why would he? He was a marine, a seal at that. He was a highly trained and disciplined soldier. He wasn't foolish enough to put the alliance of humans and werewolves in peril. Oh no, and he was going to make sure no one else did either. For now though, he figured she was just insane or dillusional. He figured the later of the two. He watched her slip back into unconsciousness and he moved over to her and knelt down beside her, rolling her over. He saw the wound in her leg, the grip marks around her neck, bruises on her ribs, her ripped clothing. That wasn't exactly wounds of two people fighting. She was still handcuffed. Cameron unlocked them with a key of his own and took them off, throwing them away.

Arai slowly came back into a fuzzy sort of consciousness. The first thing she realized was that her arms were no longer wrenched behind her back. Her hands were free of the metal restraints that had held them. She lay on her back, arms at her sides, as she listened for any signs of attack, breathing slow and labored. With each inhalation she could feel her broken ribs scrape painfully against her lungs. Her light brown eyes slowly fluttered open, staring up at the one who kneeled over her now.

She was just a girl, probably not even twenty yet. From the looks of it she would have been a beautiful girl had it not been for the absolute beating that she had received. He gave her a gentle smile. He couldn't at this state believe that she would have attacked anyone. He looked up at the cameras that were installed in the cell. They would have the answers. Cameron spoke calmly, " Nathan, find the video feed for the last six hours of this room." He ordered and then looked back at down at Arai. " Can you move anything?" He asked as he reached to his belt and took a small canteen that he usually carried with him, unscrewing the top and offering her some water, " Here, drink, its water." He said reassuringly.

Arai squinted up at him, his face fading in and out of focus as her mind swam through waves of dizziness. It was not the same man who had done this to her; she had never seen this one before. Still, she had no reason to trust him. Her back felt sticky and sore from the blood and beating, her shoulders stiff from the painful wrenching they had recieved. Closing her eyes, she metally took stock of her body, trying to figure out if there was anything that didn't hurt. Her face still burned and tingled, her legs were both immobile. Opening her eyes again, Arai looked at him, mistrust showing plainly through the pain in her almost golden eyes. As much as she wanted some water, she would not drink. Who knew what was in that?

Cameron could see the hatred in her eyes and the distrust that went along with them. Cameron looked at the canteen he was offering her. There was nothing wrong with it. He sighed and understood why she wouldn't drink. " Its fine, see." He said and drank some of the water himself before he offered it once more to Arai. Nathan came in over the intercom. " We have the tape sir, you might want to come look at it." Cameron looked up, " Thank you. One moment." Cameron said and then took off his military vest and placed it underneath Arai's head and left the canteen with her. He then spoke to her in a hushed and gentle tone, " I am going to be back, i am going to get all of this sorted out." He then rose and walked out.

She watched as he left, her light brown eyes boring into his back. When she satisfied herself that he had left, she painfully reached up a hand, grabbing the canteen. Trying not to move her legs, she propped herself up on one elbow so she could drink. She winced as her ribs burned in her chest, but the need for hydration was stronger than her pain. Lifting the container to her parched lips, she let it trickle down her sore throat. As much as she wanted to, Arai could not gulp the water; her throat hurt too much to even swallow. Finished with the water, she gently laid her head back down. She could sense the giant lump forming there from her head being slammed into the floor. Staring at the ceiling, she reflected a bit. She wouldn't be surprised if she suffered a minor concussion from this. Glancing towards the door, Arai waited for the man to come back. Despite what the tapes would show, she doubted anything would come of it. No human would protect her against his own.

Cameron left the prison cell and into another room where a TV was already set up. Cameron put the tape in the VCR and then ran it. He watched as Arai was put into the cell and left alone. That was odd. The report had said that she had struggled during her capture, but she wasn't struggling at all. In fact it looked like she was already in bad shape and rather dehydrated. Cameron kept watching as the men came into the room with baseball bats and began to beat her. He stopped the tape as he looked back at two of the guards that had been standing behind him. " Get Brandon in here. Now!" Cameron yelled and nodded to Nathan. " Go get Arai." Cameron said and Nathan nodded and went back into the room. He dropped down beside Arai, " Come on miss, we are going to move you." He said softly.

Lost in her thoughts and waning strength, Arai didn't hear the door open. She wasn't aware that anyone had entered the room until the man spoke. She saw it was a different one this time, and they wanted to move her. "No..." she gasped, "can't....my leg, dislocated, and ribs...too much trama." She had worked on ambulances; she knew that if she was going to be moved, it needed to be on a stabalized stretcher.

I am still recovering from a bullet wound, so walking around is not really something that i desire to engage in. " He said calmly as he leaned against the wall and looked at Cameron and noticed that Arai was being moved. He didn't quiet care, but he was a little shaky as to why Cameron had to come.

Cameron pointed at the video tape, " Well it looks like our friend here is going to have a lot more than just a bullet wound to heal from. Look at her, she needs a stretcher, and that is exactly what she is going to get." Cameron said sternly and turned to the two men, " Move." He said and then saluted and went to aid Nathan with a stretcher. Cameron then turned to Brandon, " Yea i don't know what you are running here, but get your boys in order. Do you understand!" Cameron asked. The two men, different that those that had assailed Arai before came in with a stretched and gently placed her on it. Then, with Nathan supervising, they began to head for the helicopter.
