This is the Main Room of the Vampire Base in Rome. The Vampire Base was situated below Rome, in the catacombs and ancient caves. There were many entrances into the secret cave system, but the shortest way to the Main basewas to take a secret entrance, a small door in the outskirts of Rome, and behind the door followed a long staircase, that directly led into the Main Hall. In the Main Hall, many arm chairs stood, together with metal tables, but leaving enough space around.

A wind swept through the dark main chamber as the hatch was opened. The metallic sound of the latch clicking back into place was quickly followed by the soft thud of Rickter's boots as he made his way down the staircase. The sounds echoed, including the hiss of Rickter's breath as it whistled through his teeth.
He spat in a bin he hadn't really noticed before as he reached the bottom of the stairs. The spittle caused the bin to vibrate, it emitted a sound he remembered hearing only once before. He regretted letting the saliva leave his mouth as a picture of a vampire being stuck to the ground with one of his daggers.
He wouldn't think of her name, he would just bide his time until he was able to help her. But when would that be! He needed to ready the other vampires of the clan. No. The other creatures, he reminded himself. Katherine wouldn't want to miss this chance to devastate a city built by the humans.
Rickter kept his eyes focussed on the door in front of him, he wasn't halted by anyone, the guards knew he was their leader, and the other vampires had learned not to speak to him recently. He'd decapitated two because of his own misery. If he had been any lesser, mortal being he would've shed tears at the thought. But he didn't. He was a vampire, he was Rickter Rossenhiem, Lord of the Lemure clan!
He pushed down on the handle to his room and kicked the door open violently. He was past it and sitting at his desk before it snapped back into position. Observing the plans in front of him he nodded to himself. All was perfect. No mortal or immortal thing could get in or out of Rome without his vampire clan knowing. He brushed that sheet of paper aside and looked at the next. Plans for storming the military base and stealing their nuclear missiles. Completed. He thought to himself as he draw a few more lines on it. Oh well. No more work just yet.
He looked in the mirror as he passed it. A small slither of blood where his lips should have been was all the marked his passing. He licked it off and lay down in his Spartan style bed. A simple blanket on a mattress of wood, held off the ground by four oak poles. He'd refuse to sleep in a proper bed until he had her back.
The first night he had discovered she was missing he had killed more than one hundred people staying in a hotel adjacent to the old forum Romanum. He regretted doing it. Then again, thinking back. Maybe he didn't. No more moments were spent thinking of her. It hurt him too much. He just lay down under the blanket to try and get some rest. Tomorrow the Italian Military would suffer a large blow. He smiled cruelly.

Rickter made his way up the staircase being followed by nearly all the vampires of his clan. At the top he halted and turned around.
"Today is the first day of our war against the humans, listen carefully, I don't want anyone to make a single mistake." He relayed the plans he'd been making for the past week or more to them and spun on his heels. Laying his hand on the handle to the exit he called, "lets go!" It was just gone midnight outside. A perfect time to launch the attack.

Mikaela staggered into the main room, her trousers and shoes were mired in the thick, stinking filth of the sewers. Her long fringe was pasted onto her face from the translucent liquid which had dripped from the pipes roof, and which now dripped into her eyes. She kicked at the floor in an effort to rid herself of some of the muck and wiped her face with one bloody, waterlogged sleeve, before looking around.
The flagstones making up the floor were worn and scuffed by the passage of many feet, but clean. Metal tables were scattered about, several armchairs of varying degrees of comfort situated around each. There walls were flat stone, with no decorations that Mikaela could see, and the ceiling was lost in shadows. "... Now what?"

"Now you are home," he replied in an almost father like voice. "Here is where you are to come if you need help, here is where you are to come for safety. Whatever you do though, do not let anyone from the outside world see you!" the last sentence was said almost as a hiss.
Rickter looked around, not many vampires were here at the moment, most were out feeding. "That is the main way out," he pointed to the staircase at one end of the room. "That is the training hall," he pointed to a door to his left. "And that, is my room," he pointed to an ornately carved marble door. "Disturb me only if we are under attack or you have been ordered to, otherwise you die." He sneered. "Have fun."
He quickly strode across to his room and entered through the doorway.

At last, Julie returned to her vampire base in Rome. She entered the main hall together with Rickter and Katherine the angel demon, and she looked around in the hall with big eyes, slowly her memory came back to her. Not all her memories came back to her at the same time, but only when she saw now a person, place or item she shared memories with, she retrieved all those memories. She still was feeling sick in her stomach, but was not sure what it was, that it had to do with the beast. She thought that maybe the returning of her old memories caused this illness, so thought it a minor problem, she hadn't told anyone about it.

Rickter held Julies hand as they descended the stairs, the confused looks on Julie's face were becoming less and less and he smiled. She was remembering. That was good. He kept his eyes on her as they walked across the room, he had no idea where Julie wanted to go, so waited.

Julie was glad to have Rickter with her, it somehow all felt so new to her, even although she knew this place, it was her home. All memories came rushing back to her, and made her somehow feel even more sick than she already was, she was not sure what was the true cause of it. She looked up to Rickter, and smiled a little, before she said "Well, it seems I can remember most things again. But... I believe I would like to rest a little now, I feel a little... weird." she said, trying to figure in what direction of all the tunnels her room lay, she had a suspicion but was not sure.

Rickter smiled, "I too would like to rest, I haven't slept for days," he looked at Julie, she obviously didn't quite know where her room was. "That way," he said pointing to a tunnel entrance next to his rooms door, "down a few paces and the entrance is on the left."
He let go of her hand and entered his own room, smiling at her as he closed the door.

Julie smiled back at him, and she said "Thank you, now I remember again I believe." she said, then waited one moment when Rickter let go of her hand and walked into his own room. "See you later then again." she said. In this moment she really was happy to be home again, healthy as it seemed, and happy. She then moved on to her own room.

******************************************
Rickter strode out of Julie's room and hurried to the bottom of the stairs leading to the exit. Nearly a hundred vampires had assembled in the main room, all had a form of gun or silver blade. He cleared his throat for silence as a few more entered the room.
"The Lycan are in our city in force. This is a place I do not want them to be, we shall drive them out! And we shall do it swiftly, any questions? No? Good!" He let his cloak fall to the floor and removed his iron breast-plate in the same movement. He stripped off his silken shirt and left it with his cloak at the bottom of the stairs. Next he removed his iron plate-legs and put them with the other bits of his armour.
He flexed his muscles and spread his cloudy black wings as he turned to go up the stairs. All he wore was a loose pair of leather trousers. He smiled, a hand on each hilt of his dagger. The belt they were on being the only thing stopping his trousers falling down. This battle was personal, there would be no gun.

Julie stepped out of her room, ready to move outside of the base for the first time in days to rid the city of Rome of any lycans. She had told herself she would not harm any lycan if she could prevent it, as one of her best friends was one of them. Therefor, not intending to really let it come to combat, she was not heavily armoured, but only had bound a long silver dagger to her pants, it almost seemed to be a sword, and had nothing to save her from any weapons or bullets to hit or cut her than a grey coat. She now stepped inside the main hall and just seemed to come in the right moment, Rickter was about to gather and prepare all vampires of their clan to tell those lycans who ruled that city. She stepped to his side and asked "Are we ready to leave then?"

"Yes we are my lady," he bowed his head and put an arm around her lovingly. His bare feat touching the steps made no sound as he started to ascend the exit, just as it should be. He grinned, he'd never get used to it.

Julie smiled, she was happy to be in Rickter's company again, she had missed this while being under the power of the beast, even although she was not able to remember him at this time. She was relieved to be at last safely at home, being in her normal life again. She moved a little closer towards Rickter when he held around her closer while they climbing up the stairs. She thought about the task that laid before them, getting rid of the lycans in Rome. She asked "So why did the lycans enter our territory without permission? Do they seek combat or could there be any other reason?"

"They seem to be wanting combat, they are with a hunter," he replied softly. "After the initial engagement I will try to spare all I can," he knew she liked Vincent, in truth he liked the wolf himself. The war should end soon, if he had anything to do with it. But he'd make it end slowly. Not quickly.
